Stealth Launches the First Ever Personal Remote Panic Safety Device

LOS ANGELES (March 20, 2009) STEALTH announced the launch of its newest feature, personal remote panic. The remote panic feature provides direct contact to STEALTH'S Emergency Call Center in case an emergency situation arises in the area around the customer's vehicle.

STEALTH'S remote panic feature can provide emergency notification even when the driver is not in their car.  Pressing the remote panic button attached to the driver's key chain will notify the STEALTH Call Center. If they cannot reach the customer immediately, they will notify emergency help of their location and that they need assistance. This new benefit offers safety protection not only in, but in the area around a vehicle as well – a safety option that has never before been on the market.

According to a national crime victimization survey report titled, "Violence Against Women," conducted and reported by Ronet Bachman, Ph.D., with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., 43 percent of the attacks on women were by strangers and occurred outside the home. The personal remote panic feature is a powerful safety tool that could save lives and even prevent crimes.

National transportation data estimates that non-residential parking facilities are used 175 million times every day. Because an individual must walk through a parking facility twice, this number results in 350 million pedestrian trips through parking facilities each day. Parking facilities represent the third most frequent place in which violent crime (e.g., rape, robbery, assault) occurs, averaging about 1,400 violent crimes every single day.

The STEALTH system works with Telematics, Global Positioning System (GPS), Satellite and Cellular technology to link the vehicle and driver to the STEALTH Call Center. The STEALTH Call Center offers personal assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

STEALTH and the RV Industry

Los Angeles, CA, January 6, 2008 – STEALTH announced today that the STEALTH system is now available for drivers of recreational vehicles nationwide. Traveling should be a fun, worry-free and enjoyable experience.  When something goes wrong, it can happen far from home, in unfamiliar territory, and it can turn the journey into a nightmare. It’s well worth the time to reduce the potential risks that can happen on the road. The Stealth system will offer travelers a complete driver support system with a wide range of benefits, like roadside assistance, concierge services, emergency notification and personal remote panic.

“We are proud to offer the STEALTH system to the RV industry,” said Bill Boyles, STEALTH Vice President of Sales.  “STEALTH offers safety, security and convenience never before available for travelers.”

The affordability of RV travel, combined with the comfort, convenience and personal freedom it offers, makes an RV vacation irresistible to many people, including a growing number of baby boomers. RV owners have a median age of 49, and nearly 10 percent of all Americans 55 and older own RVs.

According to a study released by the University of Michigan's Survey Research Center, the U.S. ownership of recreational vehicles (RVs) has reached record levels in the past few years. One in every 12 vehicle owning households in the U.S. owns an RV, representing approximately 8 million RV households, a growth of a stunning 58% since 1980. Even in the face of today’s slowed economy and low consumer confidence, RV rentals have increased by 20%. Typically RV owners travel 4500 miles annually on excursions that total 28 to 35 days.

The closest competitive product to STEALTH is OnStar, a product owned by General Motors which has sold over 5 million units after being introduced on the 1996 Cadillac.  Since its inception, OnStar has only been offered on new GM vehicles.
